Privacy policy
Pet Passport – Vault is built offline-first. Your pets’ health records stay on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not operate a pet-data cloud for this app.
Who we are

What data the app stores
On your iPhone (via on-device storage, including SwiftData), you may enter or capture:
- Pet profiles (name, species, breed, sex, birth date, notes, allergies)
- Microchip, license, and similar ID details
- Vaccines, medications, dose history, weights, incidents, and appointments
- Photos of pets and scanned documents or certificates you add
- Owner contact details you enter for share packs (name, phone)
- Reminder preferences, quiet hours, and app settings
Photos and documents are stored in the app’s private sandbox on the device. Nothing is uploaded to Version2 Labs servers.
What we do not collect
- No Pet Passport login or Version2 Labs cloud profile for this app
- No sale of pet or owner data to clinics, insurers, or advertisers
- No third-party advertising SDK in v1
- No analytics or tracking pipeline described in this policy for v1 (if that changes, this page will be updated before or with the release)
Camera, photos, and speech
The app may request access to the camera and photo library so you can add pet photos and document scans. Those files stay on your device unless you export or share them. We do not transmit photos to Version2 Labs.
Purchases
Optional Lifetime unlock is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Apple may process payment data under Apple’s privacy policy. Version2 Labs receives purchase status (entitlement) via StoreKit, not your full card details.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Pet Passport schedules local notifications on the device for care reminders (vaccines, meds, appointments). Quiet hours and per-reminder controls stay on the device. v1 does not send SMS or email from Version2 Labs servers.
Sharing and export
Share packs (boarding, sitter, travel, vet, lost-pet card) and PDF/export flows are under your control. You choose the destination (Messages, Mail, Files, AirDrop, etc.). Sharing is governed by the apps and services you send into — not by a Version2 Labs server.
Children
Pet Passport is a utility for pet owners and caregivers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Delete a pet (and related records) in the app with confirmation
- Clear demo data or replace the vault from More when that option is available
- Uninstall the app to remove on-device data
- Manage camera, photos, and notification permissions in iOS Settings
- Restore or manage purchases via your Apple ID
App Store privacy labels
In App Store Connect we describe data practices for review. For this offline-first design, data you enter is used for app functionality on device; purchases are handled by Apple; we do not track you across apps or websites for advertising.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product changes. The effective date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page before or with the relevant app release.
