Privacy policy
RenewRN keeps license and CE data on your device by default. You may optionally enable backup to your personal iCloud (Apple CloudKit private database). We do not run a RenewRN login system and we do not operate a credential marketplace.
Who we are

What data the app stores
On your iPhone or iPad (via Apple’s on-device storage, including SwiftData), you may enter:
- Name, credentials suffix, optional NPI, email, and phone
- U.S. home state and CE cycle end date
- License and certification numbers, issuers, and expiration dates
- Continuing education course titles, providers, hours, dates, and optional certificate photos you attach
- Notification channel preferences (push / email / SMS flags)
- Whether you enabled iCloud backup
Certificate photos, if you add them, are stored in the app’s private sandbox on the device. In the current version they are not mirrored to iCloud (only the structured license/CE records are). Nothing is uploaded to Version2 Labs servers.
Optional iCloud backup (CloudKit)
If you turn on Back up with iCloud in Profile & settings, RenewRN uses Apple CloudKit with a private database under your Apple ID. That means recovery after a lost phone is through Apple iCloud — not a Version2 Labs account. Version2 Labs cannot read the contents of your private CloudKit database. iCloud is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple ID settings. You can turn backup off at any time; local data remains on the device.
What we do not collect
- No RenewRN login or cloud profile operated by Version2 Labs
- No sale of nurse data to staffing agencies
- No third-party advertising SDK in RenewRN v1
- No analytics pipeline described in this policy for v1 (if that changes, this page will be updated)
Purchases
Optional RenewRN Pro is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Apple may process payment data under Apple’s privacy policy. Version2 Labs receives purchase status (entitlement) via StoreKit, not your full card details.
Notifications
If you enable push-style reminders, RenewRN schedules local notifications on the device. Email and SMS toggles in the app record your preference for a future delivery path; v1 does not send SMS or email from Version2 Labs servers.
Sharing
If you use Share / PDF export, you choose the destination (Messages, Mail, Files, a recruiter, etc.). That sharing is under your control and the policies of the apps you share into.
Children
RenewRN is intended for licensed nursing professionals and is not directed at children under 13.
International note
Product features for CE templates and compact travel checks target U.S. state boards. The app may be downloaded in other countries, but regulatory templates are U.S.-scoped in v1.
Your choices
- Delete courses, credentials, or reset the app from Profile to erase local data
- Uninstall the app to remove the on-device store
- Manage notification permission in iOS Settings
- Restore or manage purchases via your Apple ID
Changes
We may update this policy when the product changes. The effective date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page before or with the relevant app release.
